Venue: Taipei Collectible Botanical Garden. 2021 (Virtual due to Covid19 outbreak)
Curator: Sita Spada
Exhibition featuring a diverse group of nineteen artists whose works draw inspiration from both botanical elements and contemporary artistic expressions. This collection of artworks harmoniously coexists with the living plants of the garden, encompassing tropical, subtropical, temperate, and alpine species. The integration of art and nature within this space initiates a profound dialogue, stimulating thoughts beyond anthropocentrism and fostering an ecological mindset.
The narrative unfolds through the encounter with plants themselves, highlighting their significance within our ecosystem and countering our inherent “plant blindness” – the tendency to overlook the importance of plants in our surroundings. The exhibition offers a horizontal articulation, intertwining art and plants, while simultaneously inviting a vertical exploration of the philosophical connections that extend beyond these domains.
