Art residency in Wugu Culture Village and Contemporary Ceramics Festival in Miaoli, Taiwan 2019

During my enriching art residency at Wugu Cultural Village in Taiwan, I embarked on a transformative artistic journey. Drawing inspiration from the timeless beauty of nature, my work emerged as a captivating exploration of form and expression.

One of my key creations from this period is an artwork adorned with an array of natural clay slips. Each carefully selected slip carries its own unique tone and texture, adding depth and character to the piece.

Through deliberate manipulation of the form, I aimed to reveal the intrinsic nature of the object itself, while also portraying the hidden tensions lying within. By deconstructing traditional artistic boundaries, I allowed the inner energy of the artwork to exude through its powerful patterns and captivating shapes.

The textures and colors that cover my works are a heartfelt homage to the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world. Reflecting upon the intricate patterns found in stone textures, the glistening palette reminiscent of ice blocks, and the layered structure mirroring the vastness of the sky, I sought to convey the profound connection between art and nature.

My artistic practice delves into a diverse range of techniques, with a firm belief in the power of artistic expression to evoke emotions, provoke thoughts, and inspire change. Through intently examining the interplay between materials, textures, and forms, I invite viewers to embark on their own personal journey of contemplation and discovery.

As a professional artist, I am driven by a pursuit of conveying meaningful narratives. My work invites the audience to embrace the beauty of imperfection, challenge conventional perspectives, and forge profound connections with both the artwork and the world around them.
